The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for a Silver Sneakers instructor. The Silver Sneakers instructor teaches fitness classes and provides fitness instruction specific to Silver Sneakers.
◾Teach fitness classes; develop fitness routines, exercises, and choreography for participants.
◾Implement fitness program based on the National Association and branch YMCA program standards.
◾Promote programs to members and participants.
◾Record participant counts, distribute and collect program evaluations, report incidents.
◾Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.

◾Work with supervisor regarding program information, class changes, and member service issues.
◾Set-up and dismantle equipment where needed.

The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Education & Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications, Nationally recognized certification preferred (in house certification available with experience.
Experience & Background: Related background in health and/or nutrition, ability to explain and demonstrate basic exercise physiology principles to participants, knowledge in aerobic/anaerobic and strength conditioning preferred.
