JOB OPPORTUNITY – BARRE INSTRUCTOR
We are seeking part-time Barre Instructors for our Downtown Berkeley YMCA Branch.
The Downtown Berkeley YMCA is a neighborhood leader in providing programs that improve our communities’ health & wellbeing. With an approach centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. Our youth programs provide a nurturing environment for children and offer positive, fun activities that build athletic, social and interpersonal skills. We serve almost 8000 adult members, and an additional 4000 children a week with an average of 30 members per class. Our members are passionate, supportive, and eager to move!

Responsibilities for Barre Instructor position:
Instructors must lead safe and effective Barre classes for members ages 14 and up. Provide quality member service and respond to emergencies as needed. Regular attendance and punctuality important.
Full-Service membership to the YMCA of the East Bay
Access to 2 free hours of ChildWatch while teaching classes or using facilities
Flexible hours depending on your schedule and needs
Group Exercise Certification in Barre required.
Current CPR/AED certification required.*
Minimum 1-year experience teaching Barre or related group exercise classes preferred.
Must be available to teach one-hour long class per week minimum (dates and times negotiable)
